We track our impact in the following manner:

• Margin Contribution– as we focus on increased capacity and improved lead time, we tend to increase sales, resulting in margin contribution enhancements.  This can be measured as bottom-line profitability improvement.
• Cost Savings – improved cost due to supply chain improvements, productivity enhancements, reduced scrap, etc.  This should be seen in the P&L as bottom-line profitability improvement as well.
• Cost Avoidance – avoiding the need for previously planned investment due to improvements.  This cannot be measured on the P&L and would be tracked separately. 
• Cash Flow – Cash freed up due to reduced inventory levels (measured as 10% carrying cost to the bottom line even if the client does not place carrying cost on the P&L).
